George Purnell is a session drummer based in the UK. He began performing professionally at the age of 16 with many bands in his hometown of Oxford, and proceeded to graduate from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2021.

With this strong foundation and his passion for live performance, George has worked with an array of diverse musical artists across the UK, performing at locations such as Truck Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club.

George blew me away the first time I played with him. He came in and locked down the groove immediately. He’s a drummer who is constantly listening very closely to the players around him, managing to support and lead the music in equal measure. A real pro and a bloody nice dude.
